This is my first tractor. It is a 1963 or 64* Ford 4000 diesel. I have done a bunch of little things since I got it because, as is the case with most antique tractors, there is stuff to be fixed/replaced.
* The reason I say it is a 63 or 64 is because the serial number was eaten off by battery acid due to the location Ford decided to imprint the serial number, under the battery box. I was able deduce the years by the model numbers and engine.. Up until 1962, the Ford used a model number 800 or 801 for these diesel tractors, this was changed to 400, 4500, etc in 1963; and in 1965 they went to a 3 cylinder diesel. This has a "4000" label on the hood and a 4 cylinder diesel engine, which leads me to believe it is a 1963 or 1964 model year.
